I have been impressed with ITV’s coverage so far and the team are definitely growing in stature. The start was a little chaotic, not helped by the awful New Year’s Day weather, when Sir Anthony McCoy looked like he’d rather be in front of a warm fire and Matt Chapman was rather over-enthusiastic.

By week four things were really hitting their stride and the studio presentation from Ascot involving broadcasting legend Brough Scott was universally well received on social media. There was lively debate on the Kempton issue and some good in-depth discussion of festival prospects.
