Did we see the Champion Chase winner at Ascot?

Dan Collins, Paddy Power I was very surprised by First Flow’s emphatic performance, as I didn’t think his jumping would hold up in Grade 1 company, but he put in an exemplary round and was given a tremendous ride by David Bass. That may be more difficult to replicate at Cheltenham, while soft ground also appears vital to him.

Adrian Heskin, jockey It was a huge performance from First Flow in the Clarence House. His jumping was sharp, he showed a lot of class and he put the other horses under pressure from a long way out. However, I still think Chacun Pour Soi is probably the classiest horse in the race.

Simon Holt, commentator Probably not. I suspect that Chacun Pour Soi is a classier horse than First Flow for all his heroics on Saturday, although it’s an open division this year. I would suspect Altior will go for the Ryanair but I wouldn’t rule out Nube Negra after his win at Kempton.
