Pontefract racecourse became a world record holder last week when 691 racegoers formed the largest human image of a dog.

On the track's annual flat cap and whippet family day, the track broke the record after a visit from Guinness World Records.

Richard Hammill, chief operating officer at Pontefract, said: "We came up with the idea of trying to set a world record about six months ago. We’re fiercely proud of our Yorkshire heritage and we wanted to do something that really showed that off. Our family day seemed the ideal time to do it.
