Simon Bridge is the co-founder of the Ontoawinner syndicate group, which has had over 270 winners, including dual Group 1 heroine Quiet Reflection and last month's Ayr Silver Cup winner Staxton. He tells David Carr about his journey.


I was born and bred in York but I'm not from a racing family and I had no connection with the sport at all.

However, I used to go riding as a kid and I always liked horses. When I worked as an operator at Nestlé I was on a shift where all the lads loved racing and we used to go to the Knavesmire – which was the perfect place to start!
