For most aspiring jockeys success includes no longer having to muck out in the morning, but cupid thwarted that plan for Kielan Woods and every day he can be found mucking in at the Cotswolds point-to-point yard run by his girlfriend Christy Mews.

“He’s the complete slave,” says Mews, tongue firmly in her cheek.

“I trained one horse in my first season [2014-15], then two, and now I’m up to five, and Kielan has helped in getting the extra support.”
