Warwick may not be in the premier league of British racecourses, but its rich history started in 1707 and author Chris Pitt has done it full justice in his latest book.

Warwick has been a jumps-only course since 2014, but its former elite status under both codes was such that its Trial Stakes provided the stepping stone to Derby glory for Coronation in 1841 and it hosted the meeting that is now the Cheltenham Festival before it moved to its present home in 1911.
