Summer jumping keeps the National Hunt show on the road at this time of year and there has been a growing trend for the winter's top stables to maintain an interest during the quieter months.

You only have to look at a week last Sunday, when three races across Uttoxeter and Cartmel were worth £40,000 and above, to understand why the likes of Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls field select teams through the summertime.

Thanks to Brave Eagle's success in the richest race of the summer, the £70,000 Summer Cup at Uttoxeter, Henderson trails only Dan Skelton in the jumps trainer's championship – and the same pair lead the way in terms of number of winners.
