Stephanie Jones and Fiona Johnson to hike for five days in Peru for Mind
Stephanie Jones, sister to trainer Kayley Woollacott, and Fiona Johnson, wife of champion jockey Richard, will hike for five days across Peru to raise money for mental health charity Mind.
The duo need to raise 80 per cent of their target by July 12 to secure their place for the October challenge, which will test their endurance at altitude and finishes at Machu Picchu, where those who complete the course will arrive through the Sunshine Gates on World Mental Health Day.
The charity is close to the hearts of Jones and Johnson, with Woollacott's trainer husband Richard taking his own life in January 2018. On the motivation for the challenge, Jones said: "One thing I really wanted to focus on was the fact that it's often the families who need the support as well as the person suffering.
