Peter Thomas hears how Minella Rocco heads the older brigade at Jackdaws Castle
The early part of winter is traditionally a fertile time for followers of Jonjo O'Neill, but this year the rhythm of the seasons has been disrupted by an early start at Jackdaws Castle. The summer yielded a bumper crop of winners and there's no sign of it stopping any time soon.
"The season has begun well," agrees O’Neill. "The horses are in good old form and I'm delighted with the way things have gone. Last year, even though we ended up passing the £1 million mark, we had a very quiet start, but we got them in a bit earlier this time and it may just be that we've got a better team of horses as well.
