Clive Cox looked like he had the weight of the world on his sturdy shoulders at Newbury on Friday when the lively ground for the track's Classic trials last weekend went against talented three-year-olds Isabella Giles and Nando Parrado.
However, the pair still performed with credit on Sunday, by which time Cox had enjoyed a Friday night double at Bath, which included his first two-year-old winner of the year. He soon doubled that tally when the well-backed Crazyland scored at Windsor on Monday.
Cox, who has never forgotten his roots as a hard-working jumps jockey, hopes that bodes well for the rest of the two-year-old team, while the three-year-olds certainly aren't bad either.
