Timing is everything and Robyn Brisland could not really have picked a worse time to take a huge gamble in uprooting and moving to a new yard during the pandemic, but it looks to be paying off handsomely.

“We definitely took a chance, but Stud House is a wonderful set-up, and with the support of a lot of great owners and staff things are working out better than we could’ve hoped,” he says.

“Last year we had our best ever season with 21 winners and felt we had a chance of going even higher this year with a target of 28 [29 wins to date]. I have since re-evaluated that mark higher and think 35 is very realistic, while our prize-money is 40 per cent greater than our previous high.”
