Last season saw Chris Gordon’s progress continue with his tally of 30 winners equalling his previous best despite the season ending six weeks early. The Winchester-based handler believes it is onwards and upwards for his team now and after a late start to the new campaign the horses are all running well.
“It has taken a lot of hard work but five years ago we averaged about 8,000gns per horse at the sales, now it is up to 27,500gns, which means we can buy much nicer young horses with a future. No long the ex-Flat horse but proper National Hunt-bred individuals and the results are there for all to see,” says Gordon.
