Britain's top dual-purpose trainer outlines his plans to Steve Dennis
Britain's leading dual-purpose trainer is too shrewd and resilient an operator to be easily downhearted, but the frustrations of last season have left their mark. Gary Moore admits that he endured a "disappointing" campaign, and the reasons are not hard to find.
His best-laid plans for a successful second half of the season were wrecked by injury, with two-mile stable stars Ar Mad and Sire De Grugy absent after Christmas along with classy staying hurdler Ubak, leaving Moore feeling as though he was fighting the good fight with one hand tied behind his back. The death of potential top-notch novice chaser Camping Ground after an attack of colic has been another low blow.
