James Burn gets the lowdown from the Lambourn powerhouse
6g King’s Theatre - La Zingarella
Simon Munir & Isaac Soude
4/11232-
RPR 159c OR 153c
One of our top novice chasers last season, he hit the crossbar in Grade 1s at the big spring festivals, finishing third in the JLT and second in the Manifesto at Aintree. He had won his first two chases effortlessly and, while he’s effective at two miles, he also gets two and a half, which at least gives us more opportunities. However, he is on a mark of 153, so we will need to find a bit of improvement from somewhere to challenge for the Grade 1s. He can start in graduation chases and we will work from there.
6g Gold Away - Silver Peak
The Ten From Seven
UU3-P31
RPR 129c OR 133c
Consistent over hurdles, he has a bright future over fences, particularly on good ground and won on his second start over them at Exeter on Tuesday.
7m Norse Dancer - Glenda
T J Whitley
51P/1P-P
RPR 115h OR 115
Incurred a small stress fracture, which has necessitated six weeks of inactivity, but I’m hoping she’ll recover before the winter ground returns. On a sound surface she’s a very capable mare.
