'I think there is a big one in Le Mercurey on a flatter course'
Ben Newton gets the inside track on the champion trainer's team

Ptit Zig’s half-brother was very disappointing on his only start last season and then suffered a minor hind tendon injury that kept him off for the rest of the campaign. There was lots of encouragement in his reappearance at Sandown yesterday, and he’ll now go chasing.
5g Milan - Bonnie Parker
Colm Donlon, Barry Fulton and Richard Webb

RPR 140h OR 139h
‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’, so the saying goes, and he’s a good example. He was mentally so immature to start with, 18 months ago he finished last in a Wincanton bumper. But such has been his staggering rate of improvement he has won his last five outings over hurdles. I ran him again a bit quick at Cheltenham last time but got away with it. What do I do now? It’s a choice between the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, to see where we stand, and the Fixed Brush Hurdle at Haydock. He’ll make a lovely chaser, although to switch now would probably be a year too soon.
7g Poliglote - Far Away Girl

Is on the way back from a tendon injury. A thoroughly likeable individual, he’s showing plenty of sparkle in his work, although on 150 he doesn’t look well handicapped. He should be dropped a few pounds for the time off.
