'He's doing very well and will be a force to reckon with in Pattern races'
Peter Thomas talks to Ed and Simon Crisford about the Gainsborough Stables squad
Having started out as a trainer in 2015, Simon Crisford last year joined forces with son Ed when the BHA allowed joint licences and the pair's plans to compete on the worldwide stage are now gathering pace.
"We're now operating as Gainsborough Thoroughbreds," explains Simon, "and the joint licence works well because we also have a yard in Dubai. I'd say that at this stage of 2021 things are going very well."
One of the Crisfords' stable stars, A'Ali, won't be seen until much later in the year, but there is still plenty for the pair to look forward to closer to hand, including a strong team of two-year-olds.
