I don’t think I’ve had a horse finish second five times in a row before – he’s not ungenuine, he’s just been unlucky. However, his run at Cheltenham last Friday was just too bad to be true, so he’ll have an easy week and I’ll think of a new plan. I’m sure he’ll get further than 2m and maybe handicaps are the answer off that mark.

Nice mare with a very good attitude and plenty of ability. She’s had minor back issues, which has prevented her running since December, and she’s all right now but was pretty disappointing on her reappearance and I hope she’s a lot better than that. She could go for mares’ novice chases now, she likes a little cut in the ground and 2m4f is probably her trip.

Beaten a head in an Irish point on his only start, is doing everything very nicely and we’re pleased with him. He looks to be a staying type, he’ll probably start in a 2m4f novice hurdle but should get 3m later on, and he wouldn’t want the ground too fast.
