'Smarter way' to tackle affordability than blanket checks, says leading operator

There are "smarter" ways to tackle controversial affordability checks than imposing onerous document checks on punters, according to the parent company for Unibet and 32Red.

Kindred Group made the claim as it released latest figures on its pledge to reduce revenue from harmful gambling to zero by 2023, what it calls the Journey To Zero.

Last year, Kindred reported a drop in UK revenues derived from what it termed high-risk behaviour; from 5.5 per cent in the first quarter to 4.6 per cent in the final quarter.
