The new football season may still be a few weeks away but it is going to take some signing from Klopp and co to match the transfer of Jay Tabb.

Never mind a change of clubs, the former Ipswich, Reading, Coventry and Brentford midfielder has decided to tear up the gallops rather than down the wing from now on, with Philip Hobbs's yard in Minehead his new training ground for the season ahead.

As unlikely as the transition from professional footballer to stable lad may sound, this is no Betfair-branded gimmick, rather a permanent career change which Tabb has been dreaming of for years.
