Richard Fahey, Luke Morris and James Given give their verdicts on the key topics

Do you think Mendelssohn can make history and win the Kentucky Derby after his UAE Derby rout?
Trainer Richard Fahey He was extremely impressive. He looks to have all the right attributes, he showed he had early speed and he clearly handles dirt well. I would say he’s the best chance Aidan O’Brien has had in the race and I do think he can win it.
Trainer James Given History doesn’t offer much encouragement but he’s probably the best horse who’s attempted to complete the double and Coolmore will throw everything at it because of the stallion point of view. It’s an uphill task but one day a UAE Derby winner will win the Kentucky Derby and he’s the best chance yet.
Jockey Chris Hayes I think he’ll have a big chance. He was very impressive at Meydan, confirming the promise he showed last season. Everything went to plan and he showed he’s a very good horse and one well capable of competing with the home team at Churchill Downs.
