The charity formerly known as the Responsible Gambling Trust has a new name and a new five-year strategy which includes the aim of increasing its funding to £10 million a year.

Now known as GambleAware, the problem gambling charity is calling for all those who profit from gambling – advertisers, lotteries and professional sports clubs as well as the gambling industry – to contribute to research, education and treatment services.

New chair Kate Lampard said in her foreword to the strategy that while there was a "strong case" for voluntary funding to continue they would not hesitate to support a statutory levy if voluntary funding failed.
