Reedy leaves me feeling greedy after his Augusta heroics
The Masters has clashed with my wife's birthday since the day we met and I guess it will do so forever more. Birthdays are a big deal to the wife and Majors are a big deal to me, so this unfortunate collision just adds to the tension of the Augusta weekend.
This time, it was the Saturday of Masters week that was the special day of my better half, so at least I entered it in high spirits. Patrick Reed was two shots clear at the top of the leaderboard and in position to make the following day a hugely lucrative one.
I had £370.89 on Reed at 70 on Betfair, along with £7 at 75, and after round one I had a confident press-up on the tough Texan, adding £175 at 30. I also had a pre-tournament top-ten investment on Reed – £325 at an average of 5.04 on Betfair.
