This colt by Exceed And Excel was well-touted before making his debut in a decent small-field maiden.

Plenty of rain had fallen at Killarney the previous day and the ground was gluey and tacky, which didn't seem to suit this horse at all. Racing quite close to the early pace, he initially struggled to pick up but stayed on to some effect inside the final furlong.
