'Prince Naseem bordered on arrogant but was a real entertainer'
The trainer on his favourite boxers
Naseem Hamed
I grew up in a golden age for British boxing and got into the sport through Frank Bruno's fights. I've read up the history of boxing through lots of autobiographies and watch all the big fights. I was a massive fan of Prince Naseem when I was younger and loved watching his fights. For a lighter weight his knockout ratio was unbelievable - 31 of his 36 wins were achieved that way - and he only ever lost once. With his bravado and confidence, he was bordering on arrogant but he backed it up and was a real entertainer in and out of the ring.
Muhammad Ali
The fight that sticks out for me was when he regained his title against George Foreman after sitting on the ropes. Foreman was the undefeated world heavyweight champion with 37 KOs in 40 fights and people were worried for Ali's life, never mind whether he'd win or not. Outside the ring Ali was an intelligent guy and also very brave. His decision not to go to the Vietnam war cost him the best years of his career but he stood by what he believed in.
Nigel Benn
The fight I remember most when I was growing up was Benn versus McClellan. McClellan came over from America and everyone thought he was going to destroy Benn, which he nearly did in the first round, but Benn rallied to stop McClellan in the tenth. It was the most exciting fight I've seen and it was unfortunate McClellan got badly hurt. Benn's rivalry with Chris Eubank was legendary and he had a knack of winning when it looked unlikely - he was a gutsy and exciting fighter.
