James Bowen and Bryony Frost are but two former point-to-point riders who will be followed by fans of the sport during tomorrow's Randox Health Grand National.

Bowen's brother, Sean, plus Tom O'Brien, Nick Scholfield, Daryl Jacob, David Bass and Harry Cobden are all former national novice champions, while Sam Coltherd took the northern title, aided by two point-to-point wins on Captain Redbeard, his mount tomorrow.

Maybe Connor Brace, 16, and Bryan Carver, 20, will follow them one day. They share the lead in this season's Fuller's national novice men's championship with six wins apiece.
