They say records are made to be broken, although some great achievements stand the test of time. We're just a fortnight into the new season but this could be a key campaign in the legacy of Barry O’Neill, who may be hitting his peak as a rider.

Breaking the 100-winner barrier in a single point-to-point season is something only two riders have managed – unsurprisingly courtesy of the sport’s two must successful riders, Derek O’Connor and Jamie Codd, who has now retired from riding in points.

O’Connor reached the century mark three times, the last of which was particularly crucial as it was required to defeat his chief rival Codd by 110 winners to 104 at the season’s end in 2011.
