Oisin Murphy, Kevin Blake and James Knight deliver their verdicts

So what did you make of the Arc?
Connor Beasley, jockey Mr Gosden after the race seemed pretty pleased with Enable’s performance. He thought Waldgeist outstayed her on testing ground and my opinion would be very similar to his. You can’t take anything away from Enable as she has been phenomenal throughout her career and a credit to the sport.
Kevin Blake, ITV pundit It always sets off alarms that all might not be 100 per cent when a horse shapes differently than they usually do and Enable wasn’t nearly as keen as she usually is in the early stages. We didn’t see her at her best. It’s a real pity as we’re all likely to be waiting a long time before we see a horse bidding to win a third Arc.
James Knight, Coral odds compiler A massive anti-climax – it looks like Enable has just run out of gas late on and been done by a dour stayer. It’s a real shame for the sport as the winner certainly wouldn’t feature in the pantheon of great thoroughbreds. Let’s hope they have another spin with Enable in the Breeders’ Cup.
