Has your view on the likely Gold Cup winner altered after Kempton and Leopardstown?

Adam Nichol, jockey
I think Might Bite has proved he definitely stays in his victories at Kempton and Sandown this season and if the ground is good in March, which it usually is, I think he will take all the beating. If it happened to come up softer a case could be made for Thistlecrack and Sizing John but they’d need to come back to their best.

Fergal O'Brien, trainer
Might Bite looked impressive again and I think he is a worthy favourite but I think Sizing John is still the one to beat. I think he had an off-day. I wouldn’t rule out Bristol De Mai either, although he probably wants soft ground, which he is unlikely to get in March. The Tizzards are confident they have Thistlecrack back so he could be interesting as well.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer
I actually think it is still a two-horse race between Might Bite and Sizing John, although a lot can change between now and March. I have been impressed with Might Bite from day one and he deserves to be favourite, but it would be foolish to write off Sizing John after one very rare lethargic effort.

Richard Pitman, former leading jockey
I think the water has definitely got a bit muddier over the Christmas period, but my view hasn’t changed that much because the horse I like for the Gold Cup is Native River. He jumps and stays very well and it’s not always about being the quickest in the Gold Cup, it’s what horse has the most heart. Hopefully his reappearance at Newbury goes smoothly.
