November Handicap looks a suitable target for William Hunter
Aclaim
Martyn Meade
Won, Ascot, September 2
Stepping up in distance two furlongs to a mile, he travelled smoothly through this handicap and kept on strongly to win a shade cosily. It was a commendable effort to come from last to first given it was possibly a disadvantage to be held up as they didn’t seem to go mad early – the second and third were in the firing line throughout and seemed to enjoy the run of the race. Aclaim stayed the trip well so this win opens up more options.

Alan King
Won, Ascot, September 2
The modest gallop masked his margin of superiority as he tanked through much of this race and left the impression he would have won by further than one and a quarter lengths had the fractions been more generous. His last four RPRs in 1m3½f-1m4f races of 78, 82, 84 and 90 illustrate how well he is progressing, and the 1m4f November Handicap has understandably been mentioned as a potential target.

David Nicholls
5th, Haydock, September 2
This sprinter is on a losing run of 22, but he possesses plenty of natural speed had he not been stuck behind horses two out in this sprint handicap he would have finished a lot closer to the winner. He raced keenly in the first half of the contest, giving the impression he will be most effective when coming from off the pace in a race at a sharp track when the leaders go too hard.
