Carl Evans casts his expert eye over the pointing scene
Nine winners in two weekends has propelled Bradley Gibbs into contention for the Fuller's men's championship.
Reigning champion Alex Edwards leads the title race with 21 winners, but Gibbs has moved smoothly into joint-second place with 18, the same number as six-time champion Will Biddick. Edwards and Gibbs need one winner to reach their 150th victory in point-to-points, Biddick needs eight to equal the British record of 414.
Gibbs, 24, says: "If you don't dream of winning the national championship you shouldn’t be doing it. I'll keep my head down and try to ride as many winners, and will travel the country if necessary. I have a few smaller yards backing me."
