Moore making merry as Cavalier launches him into big job
Ryan might be the main Moore but Jonathan has his own big ambitions
Jonathan Moore is in the best of company. The list of riders Rebecca Curtis has used most frequently over the last few seasons is an illustrious one. Sir Anthony McCoy sits on top of the pile, while Paul Townend, Barry Geraghty, Tom Scudamore, Paul Carberry and Davy Russell have all played a part in the Welsh trainer's success story. She seeks out the best.
So for Curtis to instil so much faith in a 22-year-old conditional from Adamstown in County Wexford who was still claiming 7lb at the start of 2016 speaks volumes. Moore seems intent on making the most of the opportunity too.
Victory on Irish Cavalier in the Guinness Handicap Chase at the Punchestown festival in April formed some solid foundations and the block-work has begun already this season with Moore having had eight winners from just 30 rides for Curtis this season up to Friday.
