Our ratings expert looks back at the action from Chester

Cliffs Of Moher heads to Dee Stakes victory under Ryan Moore

Cliffs Of Moher maintained his position as second favourite for the Derby with a convincing if unspectacular success in Friday's Dee Stakes at Chester, although it was not a performance that dramatically improved his form chances and a Racing Post Rating of 108+ needs a lot of improving upon if he is to play a starring role at Epsom.

Key to the Dee Stakes form is the proximity of the front-running and surprise improver Max Zorin. An RPR of 103 fits with the race standard, as does that of slightly improved runner-up Bay Of Poets (105).

Bay Of Poets provided a further boost to the form of Dante favourite Cracksman's Investec Derby Trial defeat of last weekend's Newmarket Stakes winner Permian.
