THE advent of Betfair has ensured the price 1.01 has become ingrained in punters' minds. Now Matchbook are trying to take on the dominant position of Betfair with a new price - 1.001.

Matchbook launched their horseracing product at Goodwood last week, when they sponsored five races and were the course's official betting partner for the first three days of the meeting.

The company, who are an authorised betting partner of British racing, are charging 1.15 per cent commission to those based in Britain and Ireland and one per cent elsewhere and customers can trade at prices as short as that 1.001 figure.
