Long-distance relationship paying dividends for the Youngs

After not having a winner for over five years, many owners might have considered calling it a day – but not Nicky Young, as she and her husband Chris kept the faith and enlisted the assistance of Bridgend trainer John Flint.

Although the Youngs are based near Lambourn in Berkshire they chose to send My Bubba to be trained in South West Wales – and the ploy worked a treat as the horse clicked on his third outing for the trainer to win at Kempton.

Young says: "Myself and Chris went to Kempton as John told us he thought the horse had a chance even though he was drawn wide on the outside. During the race everything was shaking and we just stood there in shock after he weaved his way through the field to win.
