Likely weekend winner looks the one to beat for Cheltenham target at 9-2

We're all set for another excellent weekend of action and it would be fantastic to see an impressive performance in the Ladbrokes Trophy (3.00) fitting of the race's great history.

In recent times we've seen three horses win the Newbury highlight before going on to land the Gold Cup, namely Denman (2007), Bobs Worth (2012) and Native River (2016).

If we are to see one of Saturday's runners propel themselves into the Gold Cup picture it will probably be one of the seven-year-olds, Ontheropes, Fiddlerontheroof and – perhaps the most interesting candidate – Eklat De Rire, who has very few miles on the clock.
