'Lady Bowthorpe was a character - I dream about having another one like her'
Emma Banks, agent to musical megastars such as Katy Perry, came from an extended family with a keen interest in racing, but her own involvement did not arise until a visit to Glorious Goodwood in 2014. That was also the scene of her biggest victory seven years later, when Lady Bowthorpe, now in foal to Dubawi, landed the Nassau.
I loved horses when I was growing up but my parents weren't into them at all. From the age of six I started quite a full-on campaign to get a pony and there were lots of Christmas trees drawn with ponies on them.
My parents finally succumbed when I was ten and I started going to the local riding school before being bought a pony called Popeye. He was the stroppiest pony you could ever meet and I couldn't catch him for the first few weeks we had him but I didn't want to admit it.
