Who is the key horse to take from the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup?
Dave Crosse, jockey The winner did well but the horse I will take from the race is the Willie Mullins-trained Robin Des Foret, who travelled seriously well and hadn’t run since March. He’s a proper stayer and is open to big improvement. He’s one to look out for.
Eddie Harty, trainer It was typically competitive with an exciting finish but the horse I’m thinking about is Riders Onthe Storm, who was accidentally taken out of the race. It was a genuine clerical error and I think it should be possible to have such a situation rectified before the declaration deadline.
Kerry Lee, trainer Given it was his first run of the season I couldn’t help but be impressed by the sole Irish-trained runner, Robin Des Foret. He was travelling beautifully down the hill and could be the sort to reappear for Willie Mullins in the Plate at the Cheltenham Festival.
