It is the first Monday back at work for the majority after an extended Christmas holiday and progress on the M5 is slow as it snakes between Cheltenham and Worcester racecourses shortly after sunrise.
Strensham services, close to where the M50 joins the M5 on the Worcestershire-Gloucestershire border, seems a popular pit stop for bleary-eyed commuters to grab an overpriced liquid stimulant before rejoining the frantic morning commute to their computer screen.
