Attendances at Britain's race meetings remain a source of concern but there appears to be plenty of optimism around the racecourse betting environment from Britbet, the on-course pool betting operation.

Britbet provide a range of services to their 55 partner racecourses but their main function is selling pool bets through an agreement with the UK Tote Group. They also run the on-course Britbet-branded betting shops at Arena Racing Company tracks, as well as Fakenham, Hexham and Ludlow.

Covid-19-related restrictions make reliable year-on-year comparisons difficult, but Britbet managing director Nigel Roddis was upbeat about summer trading on course.
