It's no Gold Cup trial, but Charlie Hall sets up thrilling King George VI Chase

The Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby looked good beforehand and it duly delivered with Bravemansgame recording a career-best Racing Post Rating (168) and the possibility of more improvement to come.

The form has a very good look to it with Eldorado Allen (165) in second offering real substance and he answered a number of questions about his stamina in the process.

The third, Sam Brown, matched the career-best (163) he recorded when winning at Aintree in April and he should continue to run well this season, but a win at the top level looks to be a stretch too far on what he has shown.
