"I am out of racing politics now," Rachel Hood says.

The words mark the end of an era in which the former president of the influential Racehorse Owners Association was a key part of great change in the sport's governance.

During that time Hood has been integral to developments such as the Horsemen's Group's progression into the body which stands on equal footing with the BHA and Racecourse Association in the sport's new tripartite governance structure.
