'If I have a really bad race I go to the cinema. I feel much better'
Jockey Sophie Ralston, 26, takes our weekly grilling
What advice would you give your ten-year-old self?
I would say two things. Listen to your gut and don't worry too much about other people's opinions. I think both those things are pretty important for any jockey.
Would you rather win the Derby or be champion jockey?
I would rather be champion jockey. Winning that would be indicative of more long-term success rather than just one great day in the sun.
If you could play another sport professionally, which would it be and why?
I would do track cycling in a velodrome. I'm the right build for it and do cycle a bit for fun and to relax. I competed when I was younger and came fourth in the All-Ireland for Galway. If I had maybe put my mind to that I could have made a career out of it.
