Ibas working on new Gambling Commission standards for dispute resolution

The Independent Betting Adjudication Service says it is already in the process of instituting some of the new standards for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) providers in the gambling industry published by the Gambling Commission last week.

The new standards, which come into effect from the end of October, set out how consumer complaints should be handled and clarify areas such as the principles for considering compensation, conflicts of interests, and the information customer service providers give to consumers.

Gambling Commission programme director Ian Angus said the standards it had published "seek to simplify existing complaints processes and ensure consumer complaints are handled in a fair, timely, transparent and effective manner".
