What advice would you give your ten-year-old self?
Keep grafting away and do your best. Don’t let things bother you, just keep working hard.

When did you first know you’d become a jockey?
When I was a kid I never had that much interest in racing and wouldn’t have thought I’d end up being a jockey. It was only when I went to Race [Racing Academy & Centre of Education] when I was 16 that I thought that was the way to go.

What is your earliest racing memory?
When I went to Race I remember watching Mick Kinane dead-heat in the Breeders’ Cup Turf on High Chaparral in 2003. After that he was always one of my favourite jockeys.
