Hunt committees to be applauded for maintaining number of tracks in trying times

The Tipperary Hunt unveiled an extension to its course at Lisronagh last Saturday that transformed the slightly tight circuit into a lap in excess of one mile with a good finishing straight on an incline that hosts two fences.

It has long attracted a decent entry as it is a well-maintained and indeed well-located venue. However, given this new addition, it will surely remain one of the more popular venues for some time to come. Saturday's entry of 174 was the highest of 2020 thus far.

It was encouraging to see a hunt committee go to such trouble to improve a track that had already been attracting strong entries, so all credit to them for their undertaking and making such a well-regarded improvement.
