Hoping new boss can put Everton back on the glory trail
Lambourn trainer Owen Burrows chooses his top five sports
Racing
My sport has to be number one. My father Lyn was head lad for David Nicholson and I was down the yard from the age of ten helping whenever I could. The highlight of my day was riding out on an old hack and when I left school I just wanted to be a jockey, and luckily that's what I became. Now I'm in the very privileged position of making my living in racing, and I'm well aware of how fortunate I am to be doing so.
Football
I'm an Everton fan. There hasn't been a lot to shout about recently but I'm hopeful our new manager Ronald Koeman will make a big difference. A new boss with a few new signings and they'll be good to watch again. Martin Dwyer is a huge Everton fan and keeps suggesting a trip to Goodison Park, so hopefully I'll have time this season to take him up on the offer. My son Cai is an even bigger fan than me – he has the new shirt every year and knows a lot more about the team than I do.
Rugby Union
I love the Six Nations. I've been to Twickenham a few times and it's a great atmosphere. I'm actually half Welsh – which has helped during the Euros – and one day I'd love to get down to the Millennium Stadium to watch Wales play England. The mid-morning timing wasn't quite right for me to watch the recent series against Australia, but what [head coach] Eddie Jones has done with the England team has been brilliant. The FA should take heed when choosing the next England football manager.
