'He's a little tiger' - Olly Murphy and Charlie Swan look back on a big weekend
Evan Williams, Tim Vaughan and Sky Bet's Stuart Jones complete our panel
What did you make of the circumstances surrounding the void race at Sandown?
Stuart Jones, Sky Bet trader I have sympathy for both parties in what was a very sad and thankfully rare situation, but clearly there are lessons to be learned and hopefully we can avoid a similar outcome in the future.
Olly Murphy, trainer A strange one. I feel for the lads who were banned, as they will miss out over a very busy time. One thing I think they could do is change the stop flag to red. The horses got very hard races for no benefit.
Charlie Swan, legendary jockey It’s unfortunate and it’s unfair on the riders that there’s only one yellow flag raised when a scenario like this arises. You’d imagine there should be three or four flags to make sure every rider takes notice of it. Even if it was a black-and-white checkered flag or a red one, jockeys could associate it with the race ending. It’s criminal they’re facing ten-day bans.
