Harry Dunlop is not about to escape the cost of living crisis. He is, however, not long off saying goodbye to the cost of training crisis.

There is no sense of doom or gloom about the licence holder at Upper Lambourn's Frenchmans Lodge Stables. The final runner in a training career that began 16 years ago is expected to leave the starting stalls at some point next month.

The yard will then be vacated but also set to be left behind are the continually rising bills that made inevitable the decision taken by Dunlop and wife Christina.
