I remember he'd had a fall on the roads before he arrived and hadn’t done a whole pile of work when he made his debut for us at Cheltenham, but when David England pointed him up the hill he took off like an aeroplane. It was a great day for the owners who had turned down some big offers for him.
After his novice chase campaign he had a back injury, but when he came back to us Nigel [Twiston-Davies] did a fantastic job, along with Richard 'Sparky' Bevis who rode him all the time, and he headed straight for the Paddy Power, the first of his finest hours, followed by the Ryanair.
