Rule 22 (V) in the point-to-point regulations book allows stewards at a meeting to penalise a rider with a fine not exceeding €500 and/or suspend them from riding for a period up to seven point-to-point race days.

Any offence considered worthy of additional punishment would have to be referred onwards for consideration.

This season has seen an increase in suspensions as the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board has used a member of its team to video the start and head-on finish where both are possible at all meetings.
